Hello again.
Back once more with another fun-filled newsletter, helping spread the good word!
Things are getting pretty exciting here. Every week that goes by we seem to make new contacts with great people from good organisations and companies.
We’ve got a few examples of our latest work below, but there’s plenty more being worked on as this newsletter hits the ether.
And remember, if you think that we could do good advertising together please get in touch. |
West Glasgow Community Care & Health Partnership

An area in which we are very keen to work in, West Glasgow CHCP have asked us to create and produce posters and leaflets to promote both themselves and their health promotion department. Watch this space for examples of our creative work. |
Quarriers on the buses
Our first work for one of Scotland’s biggest charities is a campaign of bus back posters. We are also currently working on the design for their Manifesto, and are in the early stages of looking at the creative for their Annual Report. Speaking of buses, you wait for one project…

Sustrans
The UK’s leading sustainable transport organisation, Sustrans Scotland, has asked us to design and produce a booklet that outlines best practice case studies in active commuting.

The Truth Isn't Sexy
The Truth Isn’t Sexy campaign has been devised to expose the truth between human trafficking and prostitution. They contacted us to help get the message out to the general public in the best, most effective way. Here’s a look at our hard-hitting concepts for small space press ads. |

Good Web Hosts
We have had the pleasure of working with two friendly web hosting companies that have a good outlook:
The first (which hosts the Do Good Advertising website) is Green Web Host www.greenwebhost.net they run their office in Sowerby Bridge, Halifax in a low impact manner and run their web-severs off green energy tariffs. They have been super nice and helpful in the set-up of the Do Good Advertising website.
The second is Athenaeum athenaeum.co.uk We have recently contracted them to host the website for An Clachan Cafe (which we mentioned in the last newsletter) based in Wakefield West Yorkshire they run their web servers from solar power. Athenaeum have a very good ethical policy - they are even approved by the vegetarian society! Again Jamie from Athenaeum was super nice and helpful and we look forward to working with both hosting companies on projects in the future.

Bundle of joy due August
Richard's other half Sophie is pregnant with their first child (due mid August). Three is going to be a crowd in their little studio flat - especially when they are going to be surrounded by drying cloth nappies!
Sophie’s planning to take a year off from her job at Arthritis Care Scotland. So she can concentrate fully on motherly things for a bit.

Joanne moving on
We would like to wish Joanne all the very best at her new job at Ocean 70. Unfortunately we were not in the position to offer Joanne a full-time job here. But although her time here was short and sweet, she’s certainly made a great impression and we would like to thank her for all her help.

Good meetings
We are continuing to make some great contacts. Recently we have had good discussions with Bowel Cancer UK, Children in Scotland, Fuelture and SCIAF.

Carry Freedom Bamboo Trailers.
Carry Freedom is based in Scotland. They design and manufacture bicycle trailers.
Richard at Do Good has a Carry Freedom trailer (a Y-Frame) for carrying stuff on cycle tours around camp sites in Scotland, they work very well, the clever simple design means you can forget about the trailer and happily pedal away like it wasn't there.

Bike dumped in favour of a short lived cold slimy paddle about in the Irish Sea. |
Richard's wife Sophie tackling the hills
around the Isle of Arran. |
The latest trailer from Carry Freedom is a bit different. It’s a trailer you make yourself from bamboo (or, in fact any suitably tough material) Carry Freedom provides the plans for the bamboo trailer (for a voluntary donation) via a download on their website (www.carryfreedom.com/bamboo.html). Prefect for anyone who's handy with DIY.
But the main benefit is to folks in the world’s poor communities who rely heavily on cycles for transport of goods - this trailer, that they can easily build for themselves, massively increases the load capacity of their bike. Nick from Carry Freedom is now working with World Bicycle Relief www.worldbicyclerelief.org to get copies of the plans for the trailer supplied with donated bikes going out to projects in Zambia.
