The Do Good Advertising January 2008 Newsletter

A fond farewell to 2007
2007 was a great year for do good. Our first full year trading, we met lots of really good people and started building up strong working relationships with many.
We were also joined by the third do-gooder, Catriona – how we managed before without her, we’ll never know.
We finally found our new home, The White Studios at Glasgow Green. Now we can really pursue our green/sustainable workplace high jinks.
And of course, our best work of 2007, babies Dominic and Luke.
But we’re thinking 2008 will be pretty special too…

Go green at the Green
At last we’ve found a new workspace. The White Studios at Glasgow Green (the old Templeton carpet factory) gives us the extra space we need to expand and bring in more students. We can also arrange our power through renewable sources and other supplies from ethical companies. Even our tables and desks have been built entirely from reclaimed wood with the help of the Glasgow Wood Recycling Project and Gordon Rogers
Oh, and there’s a microbrewery pub downstairs. Perfect.

New ties with FreshTies
FreshTies is a website that unites people to combine their resources online, whether to help themselves,
or to help solve social causes. An inspiring social enterprise, these guys are really going places. We have created posters, a leaflet, online ads and helped with website layout. |
SCIAF sends out a global warning
We were asked to design and produce a booklet focusing on SCIAF’s policy on climate change. A great job to work on and is something very close to our hearts here. |
CrossReach ad targets depression
This is our second ad in the campaign to highlight CrossReach’s counselling services. It appeared in The Big Issue. This is a great campaign to work on.
The Big Issue likes the ads too"The last CrossReach ad was outstanding, even my editor passed comment on it and its not often he does that!"
Claire Collins, The Big Issue in Scotland. |
Equal Say
Our first brochure for the Glasgow advocacy charity goes into detail about Equal Say and the work they do.
EMPOWER
West Glasgow CHCP asked us to design and produce materials for Empower, a project aimed at improving health and social work services for disabled women and their carers from the South Asian and Chinese communities.

We have recently started our first few jobs for the University of Glasgow, one of the world’s top 100 universities. Watch this space for examples of our work.
Another newsletter, another baby
Stephen and wife Val this time, baby Luke was born on 21st November. Now they have three kids under five – give Val a very big medal (or vodka). |
