June already?
A holiday would be nice…

No rest for the do gooders. Plenty of work is now going through the studio here. Ethical advertising is certainly making sense to more and more people.

Ever thought of turning your talents to doing some good? We are particularly interested in students and other designers/creative folks who are interested in advertising and design for positive change. Don’t be shy, please get in touch.

Just want to say a big hello to all our new friends who have joined the mailing list – some from as far afield as the US, Germany and Australia.

SCIAF Real Gifts

In a competitive pitch against a bigger agency (wouldn’t be hard) we picked up the campaign for SCIAF’s Real Gifts. We have focused on the fact that SCIAF is the only Scottish aid agency to have Real Gifts. We are currently designing the catalogue, posters and press ads. Great fun, and for a really good cause.

Enquire

Part of Children In Scotland, Enquire is a national service providing independent advice and information to families of children who need extra help at school. We were asked to create ads to promote the service, and which will appear on bus panels.

Quarriers Manifesto

The manifesto is aimed at MSPs and outlines Quarriers’ vision for a just and accepting society. We came up with the concept of ‘caring hands’ and used this throughout the design.

Congratulations Lara and Roy!

Sending our best wishes to Lara and Roy who tied the knot on Friday 1st June in Glasgow.

Lara is a good friend (and a great designer - check out www.hyphendesign.co.uk) and we wish her and Roy all the best for the future.

Sustrans

In its final stages of production, we have been working with Sustrans Scotland to design a booklet to promote active travel through the Healthy Working Lives Award scheme. Good for your health and good for the environment – just about perfect for Do Good!

ZHW Fair Trade Jewellery.

A fellow Ethical Junction member, ZHW asked us to look at producing artwork for a banner to promote their fair trade jewellery. Great to work with, hopefully we will do something together again soon. See ZHW's lovely jewellery on their website.

The Big
Green Idea

Richard has been working on this logo for a new charity called 'The Big Green Idea'. The charity is being set up by Brigit Strawbridge (from the BBC series It's Not Easy Being Green). Find out more about the charity on the It's Not Easy Being Green Website Forum

Solar Hi-Fi Update

Fame at last for Richard! His green geeky DIY solar powered Hi-Fi system (metioned in the last newsletter) got him interviewed for a piece on the New Consumer website. You can read the article here

Also working on…

Health promotion posters and leaflets, and a brochure for West Glasgow Community Care & Health Partnership. The website for An Clachan fair trade café. And a multi-media campaign for Quarriers.

In the pipeline

We’re hoping to do some work soon with Christian Aid, the Centre for Human Ecology and the Central Scotland Forest Trust. Watch this space.
